Before catching Scarlett's Web at Dad's Garage, Andy and I met up with Shannon and David at Across the Street for some delicious vegan mexican food. I think I finally found my dish, this sweet potato enchilada with a side of rice and black beans was awesome!

Ma Po Tofu at Home

I kept thinking about the Ma Po Tofu from Peter Cheng's. So I got all the ingredients and made my own vegan version based loosely on a recipe from About.com.

 
 
 
My house now smells like a Szechuan restaurant, and the tofu was delicious. It is intensely spicy, and I was sweating while eating. I think next time I'll reduce the amount of chili bean paste I use and substitute tamari for soy sauce since I'm eating less and less gluten these days.

2-Day Detox

 Today we begin our detox drinking a gallon of Arden's Garden 2-day detox and rejuvenation juice. It just so happens to be Good Friday tomorrow, which is traditionally a fasting day, but it's just coincidence.

My sister and I were playing hooky from an event we were "working", and we were famished, so we stopped by one of my favorite intown spots that promotes gluten-free and paleo diets, Urbn Pl8. I got the veggie burger without sour cream. Next time, I'll try their gluten-free buns to go with this tasty burger.
